  • What To Bring To The Table

    Getting your taxes done get be a major pain, but does not have to be.  If you are prepared and organized it will make the entire process much easier and streamlined.  Your accountant will be able to maneuver through your files much easier and faster.  Below is a short checklist of some of the items you will need when bringing yor items to your accountant.

    1. Last year's tax return - this contains a lot of useful information that will help the accountant to better grasp your overall tax position
    2. All personal information - name,address, DOB, SS#, contact info for all persons in home and dependents
    3. All income information - W-2's from all employers, 1099's from all employers, Social Security Income, interest earned, sales of stock, and any other income earned through out the year.
    4. Mortgage documents -  they are provided by your mortgage company and usually come in the mail in January
    5. Retirement contributions - any money you may have contributed to a 401(k), 403 (b), IRA, or Roth IRA
    6. Charitable contributions - Good Will, Church tithings, Salvation Army
    7. Medical and Dental Expenses - contact all doctors, dentists, and insurance companies to obtain complete year expenses for each
    8. School expenses - tuition, books, room and board, daycare expenses
    9. Any other items that you may think are important to you taxes.
